		Souvenir of the South Code: AL0000 $0.00 This is a really interesting and really rare "Souvenir of the South" butterfly girl, postmarked 1906. I've never seen this particular butterfly girl before - there are several versions - and she's very pretty as well as very elaborately dressed. The other aspect of this card that's very interesting is that all the views inside the butterfly wings - all the people engaged in cotton production - are identical, I mean THE SAME AS the cotton views used in Alligator Borders. When you are a postcard collector you are part sleuth, and I got a frisson of excitement when I saw this card. Quantity in Basket: none

This Greetings from Demopolis was ordered by Tucker Drug Company via a salesman or catalog, and is postmarked 1909. Scenes in the butterfly wings are Silver Bluff on Tom Bigbee River, Public Park, Gen. Polks Headquarters, and Negro Baptizing.
