  HATtraction
Code: HatLady1
$0.00
Great early view of a lady in a huge red hat 'hattracting' the attention of three nattily-dressed gentlemen. Postmarked 1911.

  Monroe Fox
Code: MonroeFox
$0.00
A very rare and wonderful interior linen clothing store scene, this one advertising the Monroe Fox Company. The inset slogan says that they are "Family Clothiers," and the sign above the door says "Credit Clothiers." This is a great interior, with two signs above the clothes saying "Arrow Shirts" and "Sportswear." The two signs at the very end of the room say "Will Call" and "Cashier." Judging by the colors of the clothing, and the regularity of the clothing in the displays along the walls, the men's section is on the left, and the ladies on the right. The smaller merchandise is in the glass-fronted display cases and behind the counter. I see a number of lady's purses in the center display. I like the way the green carpet outlines the outer walls, while red carpet surrounds the center, and there's a chrome raised ashtray towards the end of the glass counter to the right. So interesting!

  Portis
Code: Portis
$0.00
Here's a wonderful vertical linen advertising card, promoting Portis Hats "America's Favorites Coast-To -Coast." Here's an attractive woman, flanked by two handsome, hat-wearing men, in front of the nation's capitol, saying "Your Portis Hats Look Right Everywhere We Go." This is circa WWII or so. Great! This card was used by Neff Clothing Co. of Atlantic, Iowa, to advertise both their store and this hat line.

  Portis Hats
Code: PortisHats
$0.00
What a great linen Portis Hats advertising card! This one is quite definitely circa WWII, with the little militaristic symbols to the sides, the lady's military uniform, and the slogan: For "Active Service". Note the "modern" cityscape in the background. Also used by Neff Clothing Co.

  Portis V
Code: PortisV
$0.00
Another terrific Portis Hats linen advertising card, also with WWII themes, showing handsome, square-jawed men wearing Portis Hats' "Victory Styles" line. Note the eagle flying inside the "V", and the red-white-and-blue pennant. "As Featured in Esquire, Collier's and Life magazines. The prices certainly seem reasonable to our modern eyes.

  Portis Firma Felt
Code: PortisFirmaFelt
$0.00
Love these imaginative Portis linen advertising cards! This one is also circa WWII, and promotes their "Bunny Soft Firma-Felt" line by showing five handsome, hat-wearing men (note that the youngest of them is smoking a pipe). The backgrounds are interesting, too, since both could be in Europe, particularly the one on the right, saying of course, that a Portis hat will be fashionable, au courant, anywhere in the world.
