Another terrific Alligator Border view, this one of Picking Oranges in Gainesville. This view shows two people on ladders picking oranges, with fruit-laden trees and wooden boxes on the ground. Circa 1907, or maybe a little earlier.

Grapefruit Grove, Gainesville
Code: UF628G
$0.00
Wonderful "Alligator Border" view of a Grapefruit Grove, Gainesville, circa 1907 or thereabouts. This view, as well as the Picking Oranges view, is especially significant, because sometime around the turn of the century a freeze devastated the Gainesville citrus farms, and moved the freeze line South toward Orlando. Very interesting view, with heavy wooden stakes propping up the grapefruit tree branches, and a man in a suit inspecting the crop.

Grapefruit Grove, Gainesville - right facing
Code: UF628Grf
$0.00
This is the same view as the view above, but we've 'flipped' the image horizontally so that people can display pairs of these prints, and have the alligators face each other, as opposed to facing the same way.

Florida 'gator
Code: FloridaGator
$0.00
Cool and fun WWII-era cartoon image of a fisherman getting more than he bargained for in a "Florida 'gator." The caption reads: "So long pal, I'll see you later, I ain't no match for a Florida gator!" Few SEC teams have ever gotten the best of a Florida 'gator, if you know what I mean.

A Loving Couple
Code: Alligators1

Very early and very silly "Suggestions for Lovers from the Jungle -- Your Sweet Smile Haunts Me Still," postmarked 1909. Notice the 'gentleman' gator smoking a cigar and the 'lady' gator has a bow tied around her waist.

Here it is, that holiest of holy grails of diner collecting, the marvelous, the famous Gator Diner! Feast your eyes on chrome and neon and colored lights and an excellent GATOR smiling above the sign. The signs say "Gator Diner," "Gator Diner," and "Drive In Service." This establishment was in St. Pete, though you have to read that on the reverse side to know it.
