Fort Street looking toward the Harbor
Code: HI0100
$0.00
Wonderful handcolored view of Fort Street looking toward the Harbor, Honolulu, by one of the very best postcard publishers ever, Sunny Scenes. Sunny Scenes had a way with color that was totally unique, and this image is an excellent example of their fine work. There's the side of the Kress Building to the left, with Nunn Bush Shoes, and Victorias is to the right. Great cars. But the colors are what really make this view special. Just look at that sky! Albertype, Mitchell, Rotograph - they couldn't touch this sky. Circa the 1920s or so. Another interesting thing about this view is that Sunny Scenes is all the way across the country in Winter Park, Florida, which makes for interesting speculation about how this deal was worked out.
