Souvenir of the South
Code: LA0000
$0.00
This is a really interesting and really rare "Souvenir of the South" butterfly girl, postmarked 1906. I've never seen this particular butterfly girl before - there are several versions - and she's very pretty as well as very elaborately dressed. The other aspect of this card that's very interesting is that all the views inside the butterfly wings - all the people engaged in cotton production - are identical, I mean THE SAME AS the views used in Alligator Borders. When you are a postcard collector you are part sleuth, and I got a frisson of excitement when I saw this card.
