  Main Street, Looking West
Code: MA3801
$0.00
Marvelous view of Main Street, Looking West, by the famous postcard publisher the Rotograph Company, circa 1905. Exceptional details. Love the horse-drawn carriage near us. One of the men in it is looking back towards the camera, as is a bicyclist a little further down the street on the right hand side. I see more carriages, an unattended bicycle, lots of pedestrians, a trolley way down the street, and many imposing shop fronts. A sign on the right says Barnard & Co. Clearance Sale, and a sign in front of that says The Olympian. Terrific.

  Main Street, Looking West, 1946
Code: MA3805
$0.00
Here's another view of Main Street, Looking West, circa 1946. Most of the storefronts are still there, though no doubt many proprietors have changed. The Drug store in the 1905 view is gone, replaced by the Mohawk theatre, which is headlining Randolph Scott in Abilene Town and Freddie Steps Out. Horses have been supplanted by cars, and there are still plenty of pedestrians.
