The Sonora Butterfly Girl

This is the only California Butterfly Girl I've seen outside San Francisco, which means there are LOTS, which is frustrating to a collector! This is an especially handsome girl, in a handsome format, featuring four scenes of local interest inside her wings: the Hotel Victoria, the Court House, the Sierra Railway Depot, and the Tuolumne Co. High School. Postmarked from Sonora in 1908.

Greetings from Bridgeport
Code: CT0309
$0.00
It doesn't come much rarer than this terrific art nouveau "Greetings from Bridgeport" Pansy Girl, postmarked 1907. Sweet girl with an amazing hat in the center of the pansy, and views of Bridgeport in the petals: The Police and Charities Building, the Howe Monument, Seaside Park, P.T. Barnum's Monument, Seaside Park, the Postmaster and Letter Carriers at Post Office, and (ta!da!) the Protestant Orphan Asylum. Why the Orphan Asylum was deemed a town landmark I don't know, but having one does speak well of the good people in Bridgeport.
