  The Sonora Butterfly Girl
Code: CA9281
$0.00
This is the only California Butterfly Girl I've seen outside San Francisco, which means there are LOTS, which is frustrating to a collector! This is an especially handsome girl, in a handsome format, featuring four scenes of local interest inside her wings: the Hotel Victoria, the Court House, the Sierra Railway Depot, and the Tuolumne Co. High School. Postmarked from Sonora in 1908.

  Greetings from Bridgeport
Code: CT0309
$0.00
It doesn't come much rarer than this terrific art nouveau "Greetings from Bridgeport" Pansy Girl, postmarked 1907. Sweet girl with an amazing hat in the center of the pansy, and views of Bridgeport in the petals: The Police and Charities Building, the Howe Monument, Seaside Park, P.T. Barnum's Monument, Seaside Park, the Postmaster and Letter Carriers at Post Office, and (ta!da!) the Protestant Orphan Asylum. Why the Orphan Asylum was deemed a town landmark I don't know, but having one does speak well of the good people in Bridgeport.

Not only does Atlanta have TWO "Pansy Girls," they also have a Butterfly Girl! That IS called an embarrassment of riches! Here's a wonderful Art Nouveau "Greetings from Atlanta," commonly known as a Butterfly Girl. Super rare and hard to find. And expensive. This one is postmarked from Atlanta in 1908. The views in the Butterfly Girl's wings are: Marietta Street Looking North, Scene at Grant Park. Walk and Driveway, Sacred Heart Church, and Entrance to Fort McPherson.

  Atlanta Pansy Girl #2

Seemingly an embarrassment of riches, Atlanta is the only place I know of worthy of not one but two Pansy Girls! This circa-1906 card features a different Pansy Girl, and these views: the Piedmont Hotel, Georgia State Capitol, Broad Street, Carnegie Library, and the Terminal Station. Too fun, what a pair!
