  A Pig Family Outing
Code: APigFamilyOuting
$0.00
Marvelous view of a pig family sitting on a park bench, postmarked 1906. Both parents are fascinated by their offspring. Cute outfit of gingham and lace on the mother, red-and-blue military uniform - complete with saber! - on the father. Great details, nicely done.

Is she ever! Wonderful view of a saucy lady pig, dressed in her finest, circa the 1910s or so. She could easily be an opera star, since she's holding a musical score. Terrific low-cut green dress, locket and matching earrings, chrysanthemum and feather hair ornament. There's such a marvelous expression of jovial good health about her, a sheen of well-fed contentment. Too fun!!

  Handsome Pig

Well, I guess if you are going to be a pig, you might as well be handsome! Excellent view of a Handsome Pig, circa the 1910s, postmarked from (!) Babylon with an illegible date. I just love his robber baron expression! He looks like the sort of fellow you'd come to with ill-gotten gains, looking for investment advice. Love the monocle, the cigar, the sunflower boutonnière, even the way his hair is parted. Great image!

Sort of a Romeo and Juliet view of Romantic Pigs, except for some reason - mostly the lady Pig's white outfit - I think the gentleman Pig is about to whisk her off to the Registrar's Office on the back of his bike! Charming view, great details in the outfits, the onlookers, the bike, the flowers. Note that he's got a rose bouquet, and there's a rose attached to his top hat, and she's got a roses in her hair, as well as a red bracelet, and dangling decorations on her white fan. I like his short yellow pants! No postmark, but the undivided back places this image pre-1907.

  Musical Pigs

It's interesting that so many artists portray pigs as being so very high brow. Here we have a lady pig singing in a long (and large) embellished dress with above-elbow gloves and a necklace, to the accompaniment of a gentleman pig in tails at the piano. The reddish rug is a nice touch. Postmarked 1901.

  Conversational Pigs

Darling view of a Pig couple having a private conversation, circa the 1910s or so. Wonderful details! Her outfit is terrific: the green dress with the red trim, matching parasol with white ruffles, gloves, double pearl bracelets, and bows in her hair. His outfit is just as good, with the cream pants, two-tone shoes, navy jacket, green cummerbund with matching bow tie, and green tam-o-shanter. That's a very interesting brown leather case he's got; I wonder what it's for. Looks like a camera case. Very nice.
