This is an especially interesting image, because this is a real painting on a postcard. Someone evidentally bought a blank postcard and painted this charming scene, dated Jan. 1909, from Punta Gorda. I've never seen anything quite like it before.

Very early view circa 1936 of the Municipal Tourist Camp and Community Hall on Charlotte Harbor in Punta Gorda. If you look at this closely, I believe this is the same place as shown in the later linen, because the 'spit' of land going off to the left looks just the same as what you are seeing - from the bay - as the later view. This is a really early view of a trailer park in Florida. Isn't it interesting?!
