St. Petersburg Poster Girls
Code: SaintPete1
$0.00
Well, it doesn't get much more kitsch-y and fun than this linen view of eight (count 'em, eight!) "poster girls" in front of a bus that says "St. Petersburg Florida Poster Girls." This is circa the 1950s I bet. The reverse says: A group of eight beauties chosen annually from several hundred competitors...each group makes a country wide trip, in (a) specially designed bus, publicizing Florida and Webb's. Ah, Webb's Department Store. As much publicity as Webb's got, it's amazing they aren't a huge player in the drug store business today!

Gator Diner, St. Petersburg
Code: GatorDiner
$0.00
Here it is, that holiest of holy grails of diner collecting, the marvelous, the famous Gator Diner! Feast your eyes on chrome and neon and colored lights and an excellent GATOR smiling above the sign. The signs say "Gator Diner," "Gator Diner," and "Drive In Service." This establishment was in St. Pete, though you have to read that on the reverse side to know it.

Pelican Diner, St. Petersburg
Code: PelicanDiner
$0.00
The St. Pete area had three very famous diners (at least, there are three very famous and collectible St. Pete diner cards - I'm sure there were more than three famous diners in St. Pete) in the '40s and '50s: the Gator, the Pelican, and the Cajun. I'm lucky to have all three. Here's the great Pelican Diner, with terrific Art Deco details. There's a person and a pelican on their sign, and a car parked below. Marvelous colors and beautiful sky; wonderful image.
