Fun and funny personage I call "Moon Man" - full moon with a man's face, or is it a man with a moon-shaped head? Can't tell! Postmarked from Johannesburg in in 1907, destined for Los Angeles.

Moon Man 2

How unusual to find two cards from this series from different sources! The postmark is illegible, but it's definitely from Iowa, which makes its companion postmarked from Johannesburg even more interesting. This one says "Somebody has been 'shooting the moon' again!" Great image, lots of fun!

And here's a third "Moon Man" - he's so fun! This blithe fellow is strumming a ukulele and singing: A right jolly moon am I, I'm fixed far up in the sky, But I see such fun when the day is done That I can't be sad if I try!

Imbibing Moon
Code: ImbibingMoon

Here's a fun view of two children serving the moon a little nip. I love the colors of the balloons, and the pursed lips of the moon. This might not be his first sip - his nose looks a little red. One child has a bottle of champagne under one arm, but the cork looks intact. Go figure. And note that both children are attached to their respective balloons by a piece of string. Too cute!

Valentine Moon
Code: ValentineMoon
$0.00
Very sweet and romantic view of a pair of lovers kissing while sitting on a silver moon. She's wearing an orange dress with lace accents and leg-of-mutton sleeves, reddish sash, and has an orange bow in her hair. It looks almost as though she's sitting on a bunch of roses - ouch! He's wearing evening dress and rather daring red socks. Great expression on the moon - he approves. The caption reads "To my Valentine." Can't read the entire postmark, but the date was Feb. 13, and probably around 1910.

Exposition Girls

$0.00
Very rare and charming view of four friends posed on a 'paper moon' which says "Meet me at the Panama-Pacific Exposition San Francisco 1915". Terrific detail on the paper moon, very crisp expressions. All four girls are obviously in their good clothes, wearing rings, necklaces, and pins. Wonderful!

Fun real photo view of two girls sitting on a particularly nice 'paper moon.' Difficult to date, but probably circa the 1910s, since neither girl has cut her hair.
